OPPORTUNITY: Festival Producer

The Youth Infringement Festival is seeking a Festival Producer for the 2023-2024 season. Contract Dates: Flexible work between September 1st, 2023 and March 31, 2024. Must be fully available during the weeks of the Festival (March 6-9 and 13-17, 2023).

Remuneration: $16.55/h, 10-15 hours a week

Reports to: General Manager 

The Producers will:

  • Work collaboratively to ensure the success of the Festival, including but not limited to: attending regular production meetings and keeping good communication;

  • Maintain contact with the General Manager by attending at minimum monthly check-in sessions throughout the process and bring forward any concerns that may arise;

  • Coordinate all Festival logistics and ancillary events, including but not limited to: venue coordination, production coordination, artist and volunteer management, and professional development opportunities;

  • Work collaboratively with the Outreach & Communications Coordinator to create promotional and marketing materials, including but not limited to: graphics for the website and social media, flyers, posters, a press release and other related documents;

  • Be present for the entirety of the festival to greet patrons, prepare and give host speeches, support box office and concessions sales officers, and be prepared to answer general festival questions;

  • Prepare reports and assist with grant writing and other support as needed.

Note: Producers may not participate in that year’s Festival in any other capacity (actor,

playwright, director, stage manager, designer).

The ideal Candidate would be/have:

  • An emerging arts administrator who has completed high school or equivalent;

  • A desire to build and improve leadership skills;

  • An interest in arts management, theatre and/or live performing arts;

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills;

  • A resident of Ottawa/Gatineau or a surrounding area;

  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset but is not required.

Note: This is an entry level position and no experience is necessary. We encourage applicants with any level of experience to apply.
