Call for Scripts and Proposals

Are you an emerging or aspiring playwright or theatre creator based in the Ottawa area? Would you like to develop your script or idea with a professional mentor, meet fellow youth artists, and have the chance to have your work staged at the 2024 Youth Infringement Festival? We want to hear from you! Our call for scripts and proposals is now open: submit your first drafts (any stage, minimum 10 pages) or proposals (minimum 800 words) via our application forms.

We are accepting first drafts and proposals for scripts at our Call for Scripts. Accepted pieces will participate in group and individual mentorship sessions in our Playwrights’ Lab from July to October, and aim to finish the mentorship with a completed one-act text.

We are accepting proposals from groups and individuals at our Call for Devised Proposals. Accepted proposals will be assigned a mentor, who will support them through the process of creating a new work together, to be presented at the festival in March by the co-creators. Proposals are accepted from full groups seeking mentorship in collective creation, as well as partial groups and individuals who are also seeking support in recruiting co-creators.

The deadline to submit is June 30, 2024 at 11:59pm EST
